Kudus Mohammed is expected to stay out for several months after suffering a meniscus injury.
The midfielder was forced off after just 6minutes during Ajax’s Champions League game against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Kudus was only making his Champions League debut but could not last on the pitch after picking up the setback in an unfortunate manner.
He is now set to miss most part of the season after Ajax confirmed the player will be sidelined for a while.
“Mohammed Kudus had to be subbed off after only 6 minutes vs. Liverpool on Wednesday. Further examinations show that the 20-year-old has a meniscus injury that will keep him out for several months,” Ajax announced.
The situation will see him miss Ghana’s Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan next Month.
It is likely the 20-year-old could return early next year for the second half of the season.
