Ghana President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has named multiple-award winning broadcast Dan Kwaku Yeboah as a member of the 2023 African Games Local Organising Committee.
The Despite Media Group Head of Sports is an integral member of the 9-member committee which is chaired by Dr Kwaku Ofosu Asare.
The multisport event will be held in three cities across the West African nation and will be the second time in history that the event will be decentralized in a process that started in the previous edition held in Morocco.
Kwaku Yeboah, a former spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association, will assume roles and responsibilities as an eminent member of the committee which have been tasked to ensure a successful stage of the games.
The committee will be responsible for providing the organisers with important advice on every aspect of organizing the event including the program, logistics, venue, security and accommodation as well as ensuring that local participation is maximized through creating local awareness of the event to all relevant stakeholders in coordination with the organisers. These will be tasks of the LOC among others and Kwaku Yeboah, who is also a media expert, is expected to play a crucial role on the success of the committee.
Secretary to the 2016 NPP transitional team on youth and sports Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah is also on the committee as the chief operations officer. The remaining members are Mr Reks Brobbey, Dr.Mrs. Beatrice Dwumfour Williams, Mr Ahmed Osumanu, Mr Ben Nunoo, Ms Eva Okyere and Ms Joyce Datsa.
