CK Akonnor’s first game in charge of the Black Stars ended in a defeat after losing 3-0 to Mali in an international friendly at the Emir Hotel Sports Complex in Turkey.
Hamari Troare scored for Mali in just 3minutes after he out-powered Gideon Mensah at the left to slot the ball through the legs of goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
The Black Stars then dominated the entire half but had nothing to show for as they barely created goal scoring opportunities.
Coach CK Akonnor however introduced debutant Kamaldeen Sulemana for Eugene Ansah.
Emmanuel Lomotey also came on for Bernard Mensah just after recess.
Mali doubled their lead after Harore Troare delivered a wonderful cross which saw youngster El Bilal Toure heading home from close range.
Defender Nicholas Opoku also made way for Celta Vigo centre back Joseph Aidoo after the former sustained an injury.
Haidara Amadu made it 3 for Mali having beating an offside trap to score after his initial attempt had come off the post.
Ghana will now turn attention to Monday’s game against Qatar.
