Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie has said in a statement that he feels devastated by the news of Yakubu Moro’s death.
Moro, owner of Berekum Arsenal, passed away during the wee hours of Friday at the RIdge Hospital in Accra after battling with stroke.
Afriyie, first-runner up of the 2019 Ghana FA Presidential elections, remains one of the closest allies of the departed administrator who died aged 60.
Few friends including the former Ghana FA Vice President George Afriyie and Berekum Arsenal legal representative Lawyer Kwame Ntow Fianko were among those who visited him on his hospital bed.
In a statement released via his Facebook page the Planners Athletic Club President has expressed his feelings about the death of his ‘friend’.
“It is with a heavy heart that I take the news of your sudden demise.You have been a great friend through thick and thin. When I visited you on your sick bed earlier this week I was hopeful of seeing you again but, the news of your demise has left me totally devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with your wife and family as they go through these difficult times. Rest In Perfect Peace Alhaji Yakubu Moro. #RIPYakubuMoro “
