Former Ghana Football Association President George Afriyie is leading a band of high profile football personalities who are paying their last respect to the departed former owner of Berekum Arsenal.
Afriyie, who is a director of Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals and President of second-tier side Planners Athletic Club, cut short his business schedules in Kumasi to rush to the Bono region town where the final funeral rites of Yakubu Moro will take place on Saturday morning.
President of New Edubiase United FC Abdul Salam Yakubu as well as Ghana FA Executive Council member Kingsley Osei Bonsu have also been sighted at the funeral grounds.
A contingent of Aduana Stars involving George Gyawu as well as many other dignitaries from the camp of the former Ghana Premier League winners have all showed up at the funeral grounds.
Yakubu Moro passed away at the Ridge Hospital in Accra after spending some almost a fortnight in hospital.
The tough-talking administrator had been on admission at the Ridge Hospital in Accra for the past week after suffering stroke on arrival at the hospital.
According to Ghana Sports Online checks which has been corroborated by friends and family he travelled to Accra to personally file paperworks for Berekum Arsenal at the Ghana Football Association almost a fortnight ago.
After submitting the documents he went to the Ridge Hospital to consult his personal doctor for medical check up but he shockingly suffered stroke on arrival at the hospital.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday morning according to Islamic traditions.
