We don’t need you, you are always in the news for the bad reasons-Kotoko fans to Asamoah Gyan

Kotoko fans have descended heavily on former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan over an allegedly comment claiming he was not going to play for the Reds for free.

Gyan on countless occasions had declared his intentions to play for the Reds before hanging his boots.

The Ghana legend is currently clubless after leaving Indian side Northeast United.

He was reported to have been approached by the Ghanaian giants over the possibility of joining the Club before the start of the season.

In a twist of event, a move reportedly fell through after the player demanded a huge sum of $500,000 before joining.

He is also said to have clearly stated he was not going to play for the Ghana Premier League record holders for free.

Fans of the Club did not take the said comment likely as they issue out hash words on Ghana’s all-time top scorer.

One fan said: “There will be division in the Kotoko playing body if Asamoah Gyan comes.”

“This comment wouldn’t change the fact that you and your brother “assaulted” someone. This wont change the topic or make that subject die. Tell your PR guys that at least they tried but it wont wash. I wonder what extra or better you will bring on board to the Club, You have out lived your usefulness to our Club,” another said.

“Characters like Asamoah Gyan is not needed at Kotoko. Nana Yaw and his management shouldn’t try. He has no good image to be associated to Kotoko,” a comment from another fan reads.

A fan with the name Gyamfi Lawrence also wrote: “This guy should rest in his retirement. We thought he wanted Kotoko. Kotoko doesn’t need him that bad for anything. Aaaaabah!

Kotoko have already be some acquisitions by bringing in Mubarik Yusif, Emmanuel Keyekeh, Patrick Asmah and Latif Anabila.
