Former Ghana President Jerry John Rawlings has been confirmed dead.
Rawlings, 73, died in Accra after falling ill from the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Ghanaian television outlet GHOne Television.
The outspoken revolutionist ruled Ghana from January 7, 1993 to January 7, 2001 under the fourth republic.
He was the first President of the 4th Republic and is widely loved and favoured by the entire Ghanaian population.
He was a former director of Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak.
