Ibrahim Salifu was a one time Hearts of Oak transfer target but the Phobians failed to land the player who operates as a winger and he is now making a big statement about his quality.

The 20-year-old has advertised himself very well in the opening two games of the Ghanaian season after winning the Most Valuable Player Award against giants Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on match day one and went ahead to sweep the gong as the Citizens brushed aside Ebusua Dwarfs 2-0 at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.

In a game that has provoked rumours on social media about possible actions from government after XI Wonders allowed fans into the stadium, Salifu made a big statement about his qualities as he emerged the best player on the pitch.

Experienced Tetteh Nortey opened the scoring from the spot after defender Prince Kpodo handled the ball inside the box on the 31st minute mark. Prince Okraku added the second from the assist of former Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars winger Ashitey Ollenu was introduced in the second half.

Salifu said in the post match interview that he has targeted winning 10 MVP Awards in the season which means he has 8 more to win.
