Exciting Ghanaian winger Emmanuel Owusu has credited his teammates for their performance in their 1-1 drawn game with XI Wonders in Techiman in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Defender Ibrahim Samed came off the bench on the 76th minute mark and scored the equaliser for the Miners with a minute of stoppage-time left to play at the Nana Ameyaw Park in the commercial town Techiman in the Bono East region.
Owusu, who recently recovered from injury to play his first game of the season for AshantiGold, watched the entire proceedings from the bench as Serbian coach Milovan Cirkovic plans to hand him a full debut in the Miners’ following fixture.
After watching his side snatch a late point Owusu has praised his teammates for their efforts.
“We still remain unbeaten and the entire team really fought hard for the point. I mean we did everything we had to do as a team. We arrived a bit late because we had issues on the road but that didn’t deter us from doing what we did. We didn’t rest well enough but it didn’t stop us as well. It was a good fighting spirit,” he told Ghana Sports Online.
AshantiGold sit in 5th place and are just 2 points shy of leaders Bechem United’s 11 points.
Ibrahim Salifu scored first XI Wonders through an amazing effort after he was played through by Samuel Boakye in the 10th minute but AshantiGold rallied to steal a point from the game.
