Former Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu was contacted during the turbulent periods of Bashir Hayford’s reign as head coach of Legon Cities, according to a report filed by Sunyani-based Nimdee FM.
Hayford took charge of the Citizens job in late November but was unable to navigate a win in his opening 5 games as he drew 2 and lost 3.
The panic button was pressed at the club as things continued to appear gloomy for the struggling side.
During the moment officials at the club contacted Maxwell Konadu to replace Hayford who was finding it hard to secure their first win of the season after almost 5 games.
But, Konadu turned down the opportunity to return to the dug immediately as he informed Cities that he has issues to settle with the Kotoko management.
Konadu is a former coach of Cities and the club regarded him as the ideal candidate for the job.
