Ghanaian attacker Ishmael Yartey has started rattling feathers in Finland once more as he struck a silky finish for FC Haka in their pre-season friendly win over AC Oulu at the Kuortane Sports College on Friday afternoon.
The flamboyant attacker who turned 31 in January smashed the opening goal for Haka who travelled to Kuortane Sports College as they geared up for the start of the Veikkausliiga which kicks off in early next month.
Haka manager Teemu Tainio who is an ex Finland international and a former Tottenham Hotspur player is constructing his side around Yartey who already has experience in the Finnish top-flight after spending half season with KPV in 2019. He played only a half season but his magic performances won him the player of the season award.
Tainio started Yartey in an offensive role and he continuously bombarded the defensive lines of Oulu who have earned promotion to the Veikkausliiga after qualifying last term.
In the 44th minute Yartey sealed the win for the visitors as he zoomed into the space to brilliantly finish off a move by Antto Hilska just before the break.
Earlier Jesse Huhtala had raced Haka into the lead after applying a clinical finish to a chance inside the area.
Yartey’s arrival is regarded as big boost for Haka who have fixed their sights firmly on the league title and they are counting on the experience of Yartey who has played in top leagues like the Swiss Super League, French Ligue 1, Portuguese Primeira Liga and the Major League Soccer.
