Ghanaian attacker Ishmael Yartey once again highlighted his imperious pre-season form in Finland as he stepped out of the dugout to strike the winning goal for Haka FC in their 1-0 win over Musan Salama on Saturday.
Yartey, 31, was introduced with just 20 minutes left to play and the game pecked 0-0 but he made immediate impact for the 9-time Finnish Veikkausliiga title winners as he scored the solitary goal of the game.
The former Sochaux winger received the ball on the right side and made light-works of two defenders inside the area through the application of superb dribbling technique, after creating space for himself in the area the former French Ligue 1 star angled a well calibrated effort into the net as the opposition goalkeeper was beaten despite stretching to his elastic limit.
Haka signed Yartey to spearhead their attack as they go into a fresh Finnish Veikkausliiga season full of hope to win the title and they will count on the goals and assists of Yartey who is a former Ghana U17 international and has earned one senior national team call up of the West African powerhouse.
Saturday’s strike against Musan becomes his second goal of the pre-season and his second in 3 games since making the switch.
