Outspoken football administrator Kofi Manu, popularly known as Blue Boy, has revealed on Accra-based Peace FM that Ghana FA President Kurt Okraku disrespected the overlord of Dormaa Osagyefo Agyemang Badu I during his recent engagement with the chief.
According to Kofi Manu on Accra-based Peace FM, the former President of the National House of Chiefs was counselling the FA capo to combine wisdom and law in administering football in the West African country but he sharply rejected the suggestion by the chief.
“I wasn’t there personally but immediately after he left the chief’s palace in Dormaa I got calls from some individuals who were at the meeting. They were all taken aback and expressed disappointment in the way Kurt conducted himself towards the great king,” he said on Peace FM.
“Nana was only asking him to combine wisdom in applying the law in resolving cases around football in the region but he sharply rejected what the great wise king said instead insisting that the law would be strictly applied,” he added.
Okraku and some Executive Council members toured the northern sector of Ghana in a bid to find lasting solution to fan violence and hooliganism in the sector and engaged a lot of stakeholders in the various northern regions.
But, less than 96 hours after ending the tour massive fan violence ensued at the Golden City Park in Berekum where the head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs was attacked by fans during a Ghana Premier League game between Berekum Chelsea and Dwarfs.
