The Presidential Committee launched on Monday is holding a fundraiser breakfast with industry players in the banking sector on Friday morning, according to Benedict Kwadwo Mensah on Asempa FM.
According to the experienced broadcast journalist, members of the committee which was launched by the President of the Republic on Monday, will meet with major industry players of the banking sectors to raise more funds to support the operations of the Black Stars towards their campaign for the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon as well as the qualification for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Last week when the project was launched by the President, Ghanaians greeted it with mixed response as many condemned the initiative which according to the President was targeted at raising funds to support only the male senior national team instead of all the national teams.
Meanwhile the minister for the sector Mustapha Ussif in an interview with Citi TV insisted that the project is not solely targeted at raising funds for the Black Stars but to raise the funds to support the activities of all national team.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo announced that the Black Stars will need a total of $25 million to embark on the separate campaigns.
