Ghana Premier League side Bechem United have revealed that the surgery and rehabilitation of striker Prince Adu Kwabena will cost the club a little over USD5,000.
Adu Kwabena, 17, sustained an injury in February and missed Ghana U20’s AFCON campaign in Mauritania while sitting out of the Hunters Premier League games ever since.
The talented forward was named in the Ghana U20 squad for the tournament in the Northwestern African country but he was unable to recover in time for the tournament.
Bechem United CEO Kingsley Osei Bonsu has revealed that the club have already began spending on the surgery of the striker. “We have budgeted GHS30,000 which is a little over USD5000 for the medical expenses of Prince Adu Kwabena. First phase of the recovery programme has been completed and is he expected to complete the final lapse in the United Arab Emirates,” he explained.
Meanwhile Bechem United have also been negotiating for points in the Ghanaian top-flight without him and the club has shared updates on his recovery plan.
He has 1 goal in 5 games so far in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
“The club spent around USD1,800 each on the recovery of Moro Salifu and Seth Sowah who suffered separate degree of injuries during the course of the period,” he added.
