Ex-Ghana international Sulley Muntari has lost his mother Hajia Kande according to widely circulated reports on social media.
According to reports the mother of the former Sunderland, AC Milan and Inter Milan star passed at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after battling with illness for some time.
The final funeral rites of the mother of the former Portsmouth star is expected to take place on Monday at Konongo where she resided.
Muntari, who played at three different FIFA World Cup competitions for Ghana, is expected to be at the funeral together with his younger brother Sulley Muniru who is also a footballer and recently played for Asante Kotoko until he left the shores of the country to Belarus where he plays for FC Minsk.
