An impressive-looking Inter Allies side trounced title-hopefuls Medeama 3-0 at the Theatre of Dreams in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Nigerian youngster Andy Okpe climbed off the bench on the 58th minute mark and registered the opening goal of the game on 71 minutes before 21-year-old Suleman Nafiu used the last 1 minute of regulation time to score twice and sealed the points for the hosts.
Nafiu has now scored 7 goals in 19 games for Allies this season.
The win has further strengthened Allies cause for survival while Medeama’s title hopes appears to be going into the smokes with their latest inconsistent results.
Allies have won 3 of their last 5 games, drawn 1 and lost 1 while Medeama have managed just 1 win in their last 5, losing 3 and drawing 1.
Yaw Preko’s side could mathematically fall 6 points of the top race if Hearts of Oak beat Berekum Chelsea in Sunday evening’s sole kick off.
