Liberty Professionals suffered a major setback in their quest to beat the drop as Great Olympics thumped them 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
A goal in either halve by Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Joshua Rhule were enough to steer Annor Walker’s men back to their winning ways.
Olympics had gone three games without tasting victory and Walker was desperate to see his charges end the poor run.
Meanwhile Liberty had collected every point that had come their way since Nana Andy Sinasen took charge of the team – amassing 9 points in their last 3 games.
However Olympics appeared far more desperate to claim victory and their performance on the afternoon meant they deserved all the maximum points from the game.
Following the defeat Liberty now sit just above the drop zone with 24 points – just 1 better than 16th placed Legon Cities FC while Olympics are 2 points behind leaders Medeama SC.
