WAFA head coach Prosper Ogum has revealed that his technical team had the opportunity to analyse the Kotoko team into detail when they played against Liberty Professionals at the WAFA Arena.
The Academy Boys fought from behind to snatch a share of the spoils against the Porcupine Warriors who took an early lead thanks to a strike from the penalty spot by Abdul Ismail Ganiyu.
28-year-old striker Justus Torsutsey headed home the leveller on the brink of half-time as WAFA managed to contain a determined Kotoko side after the interval.
Ogum has revealed he watched the Kotoko side twice and armed his players with detailed information ahead of the tie.
“We came here to beat Kotoko and the plan was not to draw or to lose. We knew we were going to beat Kotoko because we had watched them against Dwarfs on TV and we had watched them against Liberty in our yard so we knew how they were going to play therefore we gave our players positional information about each Kotoko player how they play with the ball and how they play without the ball. So when we were coming here we were very confident that we were going to beat Kotoko. But, that is the nature of the game,” he said in the post match interview.
WAFA have won two and drawn one in their last three games in the top-flight most significantly picking 7 points from their last three games on the road.
