France-born Ghanaian defender Enock Kwarteng starred in defence for Girondins Bordeaux who ended their losing streak with a sound victory over Stade Rennes.
Kwarteng, 24, gatecrashed the Bordeaux squad for the first time since mid-February when he started in the 0-0 stalemate with Olympique Marseille.
Teenager Sekou Mara scored a 11th minute goal that separated the two sides as Bordeaux halted their slide.
Kwarteng joined Bordeaux from Nantes in the summer of 2019/20 season and has played a key role in their campaign this season featuring in 15 games.
He has trained with the Ghana senior national team once but is yet to earn a call up.
He featured for the French U20 national team at the 2017 U20 FIFA World Cup.
