Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko will be without a key defender for the crucial Ghana Premier League game against AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Sunday.
Left-back Imoro Ibrahim is joining the Ghana U23 squad for next week’s international friendly encounter with Japan’s Olympic Team and the clash with South Korea’s U23 team the following week.
Imoro, 21, is the joint-highest appearance maker for Kotoko this season along with Abdul Ismail Ganiyu after making 26 appearances this season.
The former Bolga All Stars and Karela United FC player has played the left-back role for Kotoko in 26 out of 27 games so far this season.
The decision to allow Imoro join the Ghana U23 squad for the games means Mariano Barreto must rely on his back up options for the left-back role when they clash with AshantiGold.
Kotoko face AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium on Sunday in a battle to catch up with leaders Hearts of Oak at the top of the table.
