Hearts of Oak midfielder magician Salifu Ibrahim has admitted that Medeama were a difficult side to beat following the Phobians’ 2-0 triumph on Sunday evening.
Hearts went ahead on the 41st minute after Salifu poked home a spilled ball from a goal-mouth melee. Midfielder Benjamin Afutu Kotey then headed a Emmanuel Nettey free-kick past Frank Boateng in the 58th minute mark.
Salifu, who won his 8th MVP award of the season, admits Medeama were a difficult side to beat.
“It was a tough game for us but this is the time that we need to grind the results in tough games like these. We were very determined and that is what helped us to claim the three points at stake. It was a tough game because Medeama were a tough side but we overpowered them in the end with those vital 2 goals,” he said in the post match.
Hearts have opened a 3-point lead at the summit of the table pending results of Kotoko’s clash with Inter Allies on Monday afternoon in Dawu.
