Ghanaian fitness coach Leonard Akoto has lavished praises on Brazilian midfielder Fabio Gama.
The CAF Books and Boots Academy license holder has been working with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko since October 2020 when he was appointed.
Brazilian Fabio Gama was one of the key players for Asante Kotoko in the recent season after helping the Porcupine Warriors finish second in the Ghana Premier League and quarter-finals in the MTN FA Cup.
Akoto has been tasked to work on the fitness of the Kotoko players to get them ready for the games in the season.
The speed and agility specialist has spoken high of the work ethics of the Brazilian.
“Trust me Fabio Gama is too disciplined. Since I started working on fitness of players it is Stephen Appiah and Fabio Gama who are the most disciplined players I have ever worked with,” he told Accra-based Angel TV.
“I have friends among the Kotoko players like Christopher Nettey and the likes. I had been friends with them before Fabio arrived but the truth must be told. Look at his positioning to receive the ball on the pitch. His unique style allows him to protect the ball and makes it difficult for defenders to rob him off the ball. Until he fouled the ball cannot be taken from him,” he concluded.
Akoto is set to launch a foundation in Ghana to support talented Ghanaian footballers.
