The Ghana Football Association has swiftly applied changes to the name of the author of the verdict of the Phar Rangers landmark case.
Ghana Sports Online made a startling revelation on Friday afternoon about how the General Secretary of the Ghanaian football regulatory body got himself involved with the activities of the Disciplinary Committee which is supposed to be an independent body.
In a surprising style chairman of the committee Osei Kwadwo Adow Esq spelt his name differently in the same report. In the opening page of the document the chairman’s name was spelt correctly as Adow but in the last page of the document he spelt his name as Addo which is the surname of the General Secretary.
The PDF file DOCUMENT PROPERTIES revealed the landmark verdict was authored by General Secretary PRSOPER HARRISON ADDO instead of the secretary to the committee.
The Ghana FA has made changes to some portion of the verdict within hours of the publication by Ghana Sports Online. The FA has changed the name of the author from Prosper Harrison Addo to William Bossman.
FIFA laws require that the judicial bodies of the association must work independently devoid of any influence from within or without the GFA. It is however surprising what Harrison Addo got to be involved in the verdict.
The situation has forced Nana Yaw Amponsah to consider heading straight to CAS to seek justice as the Ghana FA is bent on banishing him from Ghana football due to his aspiration to contest for the Ghana FA Presidency in the near future.
Amponsah was not officially charged by the Ghana FA prosecutor in the case but they ended up banning him. The verdict attracted widespread condemnation from renowned lawyer Naa Odofoley Nortey, football administrators George Afriyie and ace broadcast journalist Kwabena Yeboah all condemned the verdict.
Rangers have appealed the decision of the DC and even filed a stay of execution but according to Kumasi-based Pure FM the application for stay of execution has been rejected by the football association.
Pure FM have also reported the football association will formally write to Asante Kotoko‘s Board of Directors to remove Nana Yaw Amponsah from his position as CEO of the club due to the ban imposed on him.
