Ghana legend reveals how Kotoko tried to influence the outcome of Dwarfs vs Hearts Ghana Premier League game

The 1978 AFCON-winning Ghana defender also claims the matchday 32 clash between Kotoko and King Faisal at the Len Clay Stadium was fixed

Ebusua Dwarfs coach James Kuuku Dadzie has revealed that giants Asante Kotoko attempted to influence the outcome of his side’s clash with Hearts of Oak last Sunday.

Dadzie, who was appointed to the role of Dwarfs head coach barely three weeks ago following the resignation of Ernest Quartey Thompson, has also claimed the matchday 32 game involving Kotoko and King Faisal at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi was fixed.

Dwarfs are battling relegation from the top-flight along with King Faisal, Elmina Sharks, Liberty Professionals, Bechem United, Eleven Wonders and Legon Cities and needed to secure victory over Hearts of Oak to enhance their survival chances.

But, striker Kwadwo Obeng Junior scored a 93rd minute equaliser to stun the Mysterious Club who had earlier scored the opening goal through a Dennis Korsah 85th minute free kick at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Kotoko will stand a mathematical chance of winning the Ghana Premier League title and a victory for Dwarfs over the Phobians could have meant a brighter chance for the Porcupine Warriors.

Dadzie has told Kumasi-based Mynd FM: “Kotoko came to us promising us to beat Hearts I am telling you for a fact,” he said.

He further claimed that the match involving Kotoko and King Faisal at the Len Clay Stadium was fixed to boost Faisal’s chances of surviving relegation from the top-flight.

“King Faisal has been buying matches. Playing against Kotoko, they bought the match. We know it. I insist they bought the match. Kotoko against King Faisal was a fixed match,” he claimed.
