Ghana striker Jordan Ayew got on the score-sheet for Crystal Palace in their 3-1 pre-season win over Reading on Saturday.
Ayew, 29, scored on the 80th minute mark to put the Eagles into a 2-1 lead before 19-year-old Scottish midfielder Scott Banks sealed the win with a stoppage-time finish.
On 80 minutes, Conor Gallagher played a pass into Ayew, who was able to run at the Reading goal before hitting a low shot past Rafael that went in via a slight deflection off Liam Moore.
The Black Stars forward now scores his first goal for Palace since netting in their 4-1 win over Leeds United in the Premier League in November 2020.
It’s been 264 days since the forward Olympique Marseille and Swansea City man scored his first goal for the club.
Incidentally the November 2020 goal was Ayew’s only Premier League goal for Palace in the 2020/21 Premier League season.
Palace boss Patrick Vieira named Ghanaian duo of Malachi Boateng and Jesuran Rak-Sakyi on the substitute bench with the latter coming off the bench to play part of the game.
