Ghanaian football administrator Jones Abu Alhassan who died on Tuesday in the Ivory Coast tested positive for COVID-19 in October 2020.
Ghanasoccernet.com reported in October that the former Tamale City FC CEO was quarantined in Turkey after testing positive for COVID-19. The administrator traveled with the Black Stars for the international friendlies against Mali and Qatar and contracted the virus.
According to Kumasi-based Pure FM, the ex-manager of Ghana football legend Abedi Pele collapsed while boarding a flight back to Ghana with WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League winners Hasaacas Ladies in Abidjan.
He was hospitalized after the incident but he died on Tuesday.
Ghana Sports Online sources understand the mortal remains of the late administrator will arrive at the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday morning and will be immediately flown to Tamale where he will be buried according to Islamic burial rites.
