Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil climbed off the bench to register his first goal of the season in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League as Genk came from behind to beat St. Truiden 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The 23-year-old had replaced Belgian Luca Oyen on the hour mark and 13 minutes later he registered the equaliser for his side who had gone down in first-half stoppage time after Japanese Yuma Suzuki had scored the opening goal.
Paintsil received a through pass from Ecuadorian Angelo Preciado and he squared very well before unleashing a precise finish to the far corner to pull Genk level.
Sunday’s game was Paintsil’s second appearance of the season for Genk.
