Famous Ghanaian artist, musician, actor, and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known by his monikers Lil Wayne, has set aside his acting career to venture into football as he signs a two-year contract with Division One League side New Edubiase United.
Nkansah, 34, will also be playing an ambassadorial role for the Movers who were relegated from the Ghana Premier League in 2016.
During an unveiling ceremony held at the Grand Casamora Hotel in Adjiriganon – East Legon, he explains to Asempa FM/Adom FM head of sports Enoch Worlanyo why he has opted to venture into football.
“I have decided to set aside my acting career for the time being. I’ve discussed thoroughly with my management team and we have agreed that this is a challenge we must accept,” he said.
“I was scouted by Abdul Salam Yakubu when I was playing in Kumasi. He introduced me to the team. I’ve already met the technical team and I’m very determined to perform when the season starts,” he added.
Edubiase, who play in Zone II of the Division One League, have signed top stars including former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Samuel Akurugu, midfielder Malik Akowuah, and Abdul Basit.
