Ghanaian boxer Bastir Samir, who popularly defeated Bokum Banku in a fight in Accra, has revealed that famous Ghanaian boxing coach Kwasi Ofori Asare trained his father.
Samir, whose popularity in Ghana skyrocketed following his famous victory over loudmouth Braimah Kamoko, has been training under the legendary Ghanaian trainer since he broke into the limelight.
In an exclusive chat with Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang on The File on GTV Sports+, the 2008 Olympic Games boxer revealed his trainer one time trained his father Issah Samed who was also a professional boxer.
“My father is an ex-boxer who was trained by coach Ofori Asare,” he revealed.
Bastir who won silver in the welterweight division at the 2007 All-Africa Games has had spells with American professional boxing promoter and the former professional boxer – Floyd Mayweather.
