Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko recorded their fourth straight win in the Ghana Premier League after brushing aside Techiman Eleven Wonders 2-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Forward Samuel Boateng registered his second goal at the Baba Yara Stadium as he scored a 28th-minute opener before teen sensation Isaac Oppong sealed the victory for the Porcupine Warriors.
The visitors looked organised from the early moments of the game and defender Isaac Kwain unleashed a powerful free-kick from a free-kick in the second minute of the game but his decent attempt was stopped by Abalora in the Kotoko post.
However, it was Kotoko who scored the first goal of the game as Mudasiru Salifu robbed a Wonders midfielder off the ball and found Boateng who darted his effort past Abdulai Ibrahim for the opener.
The Porcupine Warriors should have registered the second goal moments before the break when Oppong played Richmond Lamptey through but the former Inter Allies midfielder’s effort was deflected off a goal by a Wonders player.
The goalpost saved Kotoko from conceding the equaliser in the nick of half-time as Abalora failed to a deal with a cross inside the box with the ball coming off a Wonders player before hitting the near post.
Then on the 77th-minute mark, Isaac Oppong weaved his magic by beating his marker before burying the ball for his 3rd goal of the campaign.
Prosper Narteh’s men now have 12 points from 4 games and have conceded only 1 goal.
