MTN has for the past years partnered with the SWAG Awards, the most prestigious and longest-running awards event in Ghana, where honors are bestowed on distinguished sportsmen and women in the year under review.

The 46th edition of the event is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Accra International Conference Center (AICC) and will be held under the theme: “Ghana Sports in the post-Covid-19 era; a business approach”.

MTN, Ghana’s leading mobile network operator also has hinted that it shall support the 2021 SWAG Awards event with an undisclosed amount of airtime and other souvenirs for the award winners.

Corporate Services Executive at MTN Ghana, Samuel Koranteng, mentioned that MTN’s partnership with SWAG affirms his company’s belief in rewarding outstanding athletes who represented the country in their various fields in the year under review.

“We are here to support SWAG to recognize sports personalities who have excelled in the year under review. We feel good and excited about this. We believe it is a good thing and we are proud to be associated with the SWAG Awards,” he said.

SWAG President, Kwabena Yeboah, on behalf of the association thanked MTN for their continuous support to the promotion and development of sports in the country and also expressed gratitude to MTN for recognizing the need to support the rewarding of deserving athletes who always put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians.

The 46th SWAG Awards Night will honor over 30 sportsmen and women as well as individuals who have contributed in diverse ways in the sports industry. According to President Kwabena Yeboah, this year’s event will also honor the best sports journalist in the country which is a novelty by SWAG.
