Oliver Arthur, the agent of Ghana sensation Felix Afena-Gyan, has revealed that Italian giants AC Milan were interested in signing the Sunyani-born forward.

Gyan, 18, hogged the headlines last weekend when he climbed off the bench to score a brace to power Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma to a 2-0 away victory over Genoa in the Seria A.

Following his heroics for I Giallorossi, the precocious young forward became the first player born in 2003 to score in the Serie A.

Oliver Arthur, who has also represented many big-name Ghanaian stars in the Serie A, has revealed AC Milan was interested in securing the services of the youngster.

“He initially had trials at AS Roma, then Sassuolo before going to AC Milan. Milan, just like the other clubs, was very much interested in him. But, we needed to make a decision and look at the best for the player and we settled on AS Roma,” he told Bright Kankam Boadu on Kumasi-based Pure FM.

Gyan was handed a call-up to the Black Stars by Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac but Roma blocked the invitation.
