Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has insisted AS Roma wunderkind Felix Afena-Gyan must not be rushed into the limelight despite his early display of precociousness.
Afena-Gyan, 18, grabbed the headlines during the weekend when he climbed off the bench to score a brace to secure victory for Jose Mourinho’s side in a Serie A game against Genoa.
The promising forward was even included in the Ghana squad to face Ethiopia and South Africa in the final lapse of games in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers but I Giallorossi blocked the invitation.
Meanwhile, Gyan who also left Ghana at a tender age to join Udinese in 2003 from Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals, has called for patience for the teenager.
