Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Akwasi Asante became the first non-league player to score an FA Cup goal against a side in the top two of the Premier League since Rocky Baptiste scored for Farnborough Town against Arsenal at Highbury in January 2003.

Asante, 29, scored on the 80th-minute mark after coming off the bench as returning Romelu Lukaku struck as Chelsea cruised to a comfortable victory against non-League Chesterfield in a 5-1 FA Cup third-round canter at Stamford Bridge.

Akwasi Asante also scoring against the European Champions Chelsea, becomes the first non-league player to score at Stamford Bridge in 107 years.

Amsterdam-born Asante tapped in a late Chesterfield consolation to spark jubilant celebrations among their raucous travelling fans.

Asante was born to a Ghanaian immigrant family in the Netherlands and is a former player of Birmingham City.

Chesterfield signed Asante from Gloucester City in November 2020 and he scored 10 vital goals in a play offseason. However, in April 2021, he suffered an ACL which kept him out for several months before returning to action on 28th December 2021.
