Hearts of Oak have lost midfielder Emmanuel Nettey on a free transfer after the midfielder left the club last month following the expiration of his three-year-old contract with the club.
Nettey, 30, joined the Phobians on a long-term deal from fellow Greater Accra-based side Inter Allies in the 2019/20 season.
After seeing out his contract with the club, Nettey decided against renewing the deal and has opted to commit his future to a division one side in Iraq known as Duhok Sports Club, according to SportsNite Leaks on Asempa FM.
Duhok Sports, founded in 1970, is an Iraqi professional sports club, based in Duhok, Iraqi Kurdistan.
Nettey was instrumental in Hearts of Oak’s success story last season as the club won a treble after winning the Ghana Premier League title, the MTN FA Cup, and becoming automatic Super Cup winners.
