Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold were attacked by armed robbers while on the road from Accra to Obuasi after Sunday night’s league game against Hearts of Oak in Accra.
The club’s Twitter handle says no injuries or casualties were suffered but, the robbers fired 3 shots at the bus.
“We got attacked by armed robbers on our way back from Accra at Assin Endwa. The robbers shot three bullets at the front bulletproof glass as the team driver meandered his way through a terrible scene of gunshots,” the tweet stated.
“Thankfully, no individual sustained any injuries. The entire team is currently safe in Obuasi,” it further stated.
The incident occurred on the Accra – Assin Endwa road around midnight.
