German club Borussia Dortmund has agreed to allow Otto Addo to lead Ghana’s Black Stars to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, according to multiple reports.
The Ghana FA had been in contact with the hierarchy of the Bundesliga club over the situation of the one-time lanky midfielder who was capped 15 times by the West Africans.
Addo, who was put in temporary charge of the Black Stars, guided the team to secure a ticket to November’s Mundial.
The 46-year-old is the head of Scout and Talent Development at Dortmund and is responsible for the development of youngsters such as Rio Reyna, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Youssoufa Moukoko, Steffen Tigges, and several others who have recently gatecrashed the first team.
With Dortmund agreeing to release Addo for the World Cup, it means he would be available to take charge of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.
Meanwhile, George Boateng who is attached to English club Aston Villa and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as well as Chris Hughton who all played crucial roles in Ghana’s qualification to the World Cup are all expected to finalise their futures with the Ghana FA.
