Eight Ghanaian players were involved in the 2022/23 Europa Conference League first qualifying round action on Thursday with Osei Barnes scoring from the penalty shootouts.
Out of the 8, 4 got eliminated while the other half secured progress to the next round of the competition.

Divine Naah and Michael Anaba both played for the Lithuanian side Kauno Zalgiris who drew 0-0 with Slovakian outfit Ruzomberok. Unfortunately, the Ghanaians have exited the competition after losing 2-0 on aggregate.
Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi held Paide of Estonia to a 2-2 on aggregate and won the tie 6-5 on penalties. Ghanaian pair of Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere and Abdul Razak Yusif were in action for the losers while former Ghana U20 attacker Osei Barnes starred for the losers.
Kingsley Ofori was introduced at the 46th-minute mark by Finnish side SJK when they edged Flora 4-2 in extra time.
Ghanaian youngster Clinton Antwi excelled for Veikkausliiga side KuPS who held Dila Gori to a 0-0 draw and qualified on a 2-0 aggregate score. Antwi is a former Right to Dream Academy product.
Crusaders got the results over St Bruno’s Magpies after beating them 3-1 on Thursday to progress on a 4-3 aggregate triumph. Ghanaian defender Ibrahim Rahim Ayew lasted the entire period of the game for the losers.
