Susubiribi Sporting Club ended Heart of Lions’ unbeaten run in the 2022/23 Division One League campaign after beating them 2-0 at the Akyem Old Tafo Rovers Park on Sunday.
Former Inter Allies forward Kingsley Braye raced Emmanuel Bulley’s boys into a 4th minute lead from a great assist from Forkuo-Addai Kyereme.
Forward Isaac Yeboah increased the lead for the Yellow and Greens on the brink of half-time when he slotted the ball home from close.
Lions, former Ghana Premier League campaigners, came into the fixture having won 6 games and drawn 2 without tasting a defeat while Susubiribi had 2 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses.
However, the game turned out to be totally different on the field as Jude Asante Aklie, Kojo Deladem, Samuel Amankwah and Dawuni Yahaya totally outclassed the visitors.
Isaac Yeboah was voted the MVP of the game.
Braye won a penalty for Susubiribi around the 80th minute however Daniel Osafo’s effort from the spot was saved by Thomas Osae in the Lions post.
The win has moved Susubiribi to 6th position on the league table with 13 points while Lions remain at the summit despite the loss.
