Youngster Abass Mohammed marks Black Stars debut


City Islanders defender Abass Mohammed was a second half substitute in Ghana’s 3-0 triumph over Saudi Arabia in an international friendly played in Jeddah.

The 19-year-old marked his debut for the Black Stars as he came on to replace Lumor Agbenyenu in the 72nd minute.

Twum, who captained Ghana to success at the 2017 WAFU tournament, took the place of Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan on the 46th minute mark and excelled in midfield as the West African giants walloped the Green Falcons 3-0.

Egypt-based striker John Antwi finally made his debut for Ghana’s Black Stars on Tuesday after climbing off the bench to play in their massive 3-0 win over Saudi Arabia.

The 25-year-old Al Ahly striker was introduced as a 46th minute replacement for FC Zurich striker Raphael Dwamena and he nearly doubled the lead for Ghana but defender Hassan Haswani scored an own-goal in the 69th minute.
