Tema Youth denies associate with arrested Ghanaian players in Bangladesh

Tema Youth have denied they have any associates with two Ghanaian player who have reportedly been arrested in Bangladesh for drug dealings.

A report claim the two supposed Ghanaian footballers whose names were given as Twum Frank Ntini and Richard Dzifa Appiae were arrested in South Asian capital of Dhaka after a suspicion from the police.

The pair were said to been handling a substance believed to be Yaba tablet which contain methamphetamine and caffeine going on delivery to one Mohammad Masud.

Twum Frank Ntini and Richard Dzifa Appiae who were reported in the story as ex-Tema Youth players are said to be in Police custody.

However the Ghanaian Club have vehemently denied claims the two are former players of the Club.

“It is never true those two are former players of Tema, I don’t know where that is coming from, is very difficult to understand how the media put out stories like this without investigating,” Club’s PRO Eric Collins Odoom spoke to Ghanasportsonline.com.

“All my time with Tema Youth I never saw this players at the Club, and my President himself don’t know these players so how come a report comes out that they are former Tema Youth players. We don’t have this names in our archives so how can they be Tema Youth players.

“Stories like this puts the Club’s image in disrepute which is very bad. We are preparing to issue a release to clear our name because the report is totally false.”

Tema Youth undoubtedly are known for grooming great talents in the country. Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey, Joseph Paintsil, Joseph Attamah Larweh, Moses Odjer, Jeremiah Arkorful amongst several other players all came through the ranks of Tema Youth.
