Winger Leticia Zikpi has earned herself a call-up back to the Black Queens team after sometime off.
The 31-year-old experienced forward has been off the pitch for the past three years due to chronic injuries.
Zikpi, who last made an appearance for the senior women’s National team in 2014 where she captained the side at the Africa Women’s Championship in Namibia has been included in the team for the WAFU Women’s Cup of Nations tournament which takes place in Cote d’ Ivoire.
She was battling a knee injury which saw her undergoing a surgery in South Africa together with former Black Queens teammate Florence Okoe.
Now on the books of National women’s League side Immigration Ladies, the player could captain the side in the absence of Elizabeth Addo who was excused from the team to join her new Club Seattle Reign in the States.
She remains one of the few experienced players in the 21-man squad which made the trip to the West African country on Sunday.
