The Cape Coast Sports Stadium could host Ghana’s final FIFA World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
The newly built Cape Coast sports stadium hosted 16 West African countries in the just ended WAFU Championship which saw the Local Black Stars running home with the trophy as take and the gigantic attendance of people from all walk of place to watch almost all the matches has captured the attention of the GFA to honor the people of Central Region with another high profile match in October.
In an interview with ATL FM of Cape Coast, a member of the WAFU media committee anonymously revealed that the GFA is planning to host the Ghana versus Egypt game at the Cape Coast sports stadium.
“The people of Central Region especially Cape Coast have made the WAFU tournament very successful and for that matter,” A member of the WAFU media committee revealed.
“The GFA is planning to move the Black Stars last match in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Egypt from Kumasi to the Cape Coast sports stadium in a form of appreciation towards the people of Central Region’’.
Ghana are third in Group E with 5 points and are 4 points short off leaders Egypt who looks favorite to qualify for the World Cup.
