Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah has hinted Ghana could host the Championship of African Nations tournament.
Ghana could bid for next year’s competition after initial host Kenya were stripped off the hosting rights by CAF.
The Confederations of African Football (CAF) have since opened applications for interested countries to bid for the competition which takes place in January 2018.
Already reports indicate Ghana and Ethiopia have all expressed their interest to host next year’s event.
Isaac Asiamah in an interview with Atinka FM says the country is ready to host any CAF competition including CHAN.
“Ghana is ready to host any CAF tournament, I think we have some good infrastructures and we can host any competition organized by CAF.
“We successfully hosted the WAFU which I think is similar to the CHAN although I believe we need to work on some few things bit I think we are ready to host any competition by CAF.”
The 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations was staged at the Cape Coast and Elmina Stadia.
Many soccer enthusiasts are pushing for the country to host the competition after the Black Stars missed out on qualification to the tournament.
