Niger progressed to the next stage of the WAFU Cup of Nations with a shocking 2-1 win over Burkina Faso on Sunday afternoon.
The Stallions were stunned by the minors in the third match of the competition after Soumana Boubacar and Dah Sansan scored for Niger as the booked a place at the Group stages.
Niger joins Ghana’s Senegal and the winner between Togo and Mali in tomorrow’s fixture.
Burkina Faso are thus one of the team’s to have surprisingly missed out in a place at the Group stages of the competition.
The 2017 WAFU tournament continues tomorrow at the Cape Coach Sports Stadium.
Ghana, Senegal, Niger and Guinea at the four teams to book a place at the Group face.
